As the Principal of Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers, Eugene Gramelis is one of Australia’s highly regarded family lawyers, with almost 30 years of experience advising and representing clients in complex family law matters. Throughout his career, he has helped individuals and families navigate high-conflict divorce, complex property settlements, parenting disputes, financial agreements, and other challenging family law issues with strategic advice and strong advocacy.

 

Before founding Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers, Eugene practised as a family law barrister for 16 years, where he appeared in complex parenting and property proceedings, including matters involving corporate structures, trusts, commercial interests, and cross-jurisdictional disputes. His extensive advocacy experience has equipped him to manage some of the most sophisticated family law cases before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Eugene is also listed on the Lawyers & Barristers Awards website as being among the leading family lawyers in Sydney for 2026.

 

Over the course of his career, Eugene has been involved in a number of landmark family law decisions that have contributed to the development of Australian family law and continue to be relied upon by the courts.

Senior Associate

Matthew McMartin

Senior Associate

Matthew is a Senior Associate at Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers with established expertise in family law practice, advising clients in all aspects of family law, including parenting and child custody disputes, property settlements, financial matters, maintenance, divorce and annulment proceedings. With more than seven years of family law experience, he provides strategic, practical advice tailored to each client’s unique circumstances, helping clients navigate complex family law issues with clarity, confidence and a focus on achieving the best possible outcome.

 

Matthew has extensive experience representing clients throughout family law and divorce proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including urgent and interim applications, defended final hearings, parenting and property disputes, Family Dispute Resolution, mediations and negotiated settlements. He is highly experienced in preparing complex affidavit evidence, subpoenas, trial materials and working closely with Counsel, Independent Children’s Lawyers, family consultants and other professionals where appropriate to develop effective legal strategies and protect his clients’ interests.

Shadia Mehanna

Associate

Shadia is an associate solicitor at Gramelis Attorneys.

Shadia holds Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business and Commerce Degrees from Western Sydney University.

Her main practice areas include contested family law property and parenting matters, as well as care jurisdiction matters, and has experience in civil litigation.

Shadia is also fluent in Arabic.

Shadia is approachable, attentive and has strong enthusiasm for legal problem solving.

Shadia has a genuine concern for achieving the best results possible for her clients while keeping them at ease, even during the most difficult of times.

Tugce Zaman

Associate

Tugce is an Associate at the firm.  


Tugce has graduated from Western Sydney University with a double degree of Bachelor of Criminology and Bachelor of Law.


She has a passion for family law, wills & estates and commercial transactions. 


Prior to joining Gramelis Attorneys, Tugce has undertaken volunteer work in both private practice and in the public sector. Her role in the public sector involved providing legal information to disadvantaged individuals and guiding them through legal processes. This role provided Tugce with insight as to various legal processes across a number courts.


Tugce is a dedicated and compassionate lawyer with a passion for helping individuals navigate through their legal matters. She prioritises understanding each client’s unique needs and tailor’s the legal strategies accordingly.


Tugce is also fluent in Turkish.

Mohammed El-Harris

Associate

Mohammed El-Harris is an Associate at Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers, practising exclusively in family law. He advises and represents clients across all aspects of family law, with particular experience in parenting disputes, property settlements, Binding Financial Agreements, Consent Orders and proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. Mohammed has worked on matters ranging from negotiated settlements to complex litigation involving high-value asset pools, trusts, companies and sensitive parenting issues, providing strategic advice that is both practical and client-focused.

Emma Stillitano

Solicitor

Emma Stillitano is a family lawyer at Gramelis Attorneys who advises and represents clients in family law and divorce matters. Her practice encompasses parenting disputes, property and financial settlements, divorce, child support and Binding Financial Agreements, with a particular focus on helping clients achieve practical and effective outcomes following separation.

 

Emma has represented clients in proceedings before the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, including procedural and interim hearings, and regularly prepares matters for mediation, conciliation conferences and final hearings. She has a strong background in high-conflict parenting disputes, including matters involving allegations of domestic and family violence, and approaches complex and sensitive proceedings with care and sound strategic judgment.

 

Emma takes a strategic and client-focused approach to family law disputes, carefully assessing the legal, financial and practical issues arising from separation. Emma also has experience assisting in matters involving an Independent Children’s Lawyer, as well as representing clients in adoption proceedings and surrogacy matters. Grace Zheng

Graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Western Sydney in the early 2000s, Grace brings over 20 years of extensive experience in corporate, commercial, and family law, handling both uncontested and litigated matters. She honed her legal skills and expertise at a top-tier Sydney law firm for nearly a decade as well as in private practice since 2013.

 

Grace’s academic foundation extends beyond law. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from China Media University (Beijing) and a Master’s in International Studies from the University of Sydney. Grace is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and offers invaluable cross-cultural insight in legal matters.

 

Before transitioning to law, Grace dedicated her time to a community-based organisation, supporting individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. This experience deeply informs her approach to legal practice, pragmatic yet compassionate.

Mujtaba Bashir

Practice Manager

Mujtaba Bashir is the Practice Manager at Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers. Drawing on extensive experience in family law practice and his previous role within the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Mujtaba has a detailed understanding of Court procedure, case management and the practical operation of family law litigation. 

 

Working closely with the firm’s legal team, Mujtaba Bashir is responsible for overseeing the firm’s day-to-day operations and ensuring every client matter progresses efficiently from initial enquiry through to final resolution. Paralegal

Kiera is a valued member of the Gramelis Attorneys Family Lawyers’ support team, providing paralegal and operational support to the firm’s family lawyers and Practice Manager. She plays an important support role in the day-to-day progression of family law and divorce matters, helping to ensure that clients receive a professional, responsive and well-coordinated service throughout their family law matter.

 

Working closely with the firm’s solicitors, Kiera assists the legal team with file management and other matter-related tasks.
